Being green is easy! Here are a few ways you can be green in our own home.
Never leave water running when you aren't using it.
Don't set your computer to "sleep" or "hibernate" when not using it. It will still take up power.
Have seperate bins for trash and recycling.
Start a compost pile in your backyard; a pile of organic food waste (banana peels, apple cores) to be decomposed.
Use rechargeable batteries.
Use cloth napkins rather than paper, so you can wash them and use them again.
If someplace is within walking or biking distance, don't drive.
Buy electronic books rather than paper ones.
Use LED lights.
Don't use disposable cups, plates, or silverware.
Never buy things individually packaged if you can avoid it.
If you are taking food with you somewhere, use reusable plastic containers instead of plastic bags.
Most importantly, think about things that you do everyday. Are any of them harmful to the environment? If so, do your best to change them.
